Biography
Member of the Council
The Tale of Fennel is an odd one. The task force (Ivory, Valeria and Morgana) were hunting along the woodland path and stumbled upon a Plague egg. It was putrid and slimy. They reported that the egg was left alone in the woods when they found it. The egg then began to pulsate and squirm. The container has torn open to produce a guardian female hatch-ling with blood red eyes. The disgusting remains of the shell slothed off of the hatch-lings' slimy body and the newborn peered up at the females and gave a delighted smile. The females looked to Ivory, their leader and she stood there agape. Another guardian but her parents were from the plague territory, a source of much superstition within their clan. The egg had to be either stolen or abandoned which either was very possible.
The child didn't know that she was staring at what would be her natural enemy if she new where she had came from, but instead looked up at them with the loving admiration that any child would have to what she assumed was her parents. After much consideration, Ivory brought the child back to the lair and cleaned her off and allowed her to sleep in a bed of fragrant flowers in attempts to take care of the smell.
The clan leader could not bare to see the newborn turned away due to her birth traits and immediately agreed to raise the child as his own. They named her Fennel and hoped that she will not grow up to be the type of dragon the plague clans were feared for. They tried to raise her like any other hatch-ling, but it was easy to tell that they were trying to deter any 'plague dragon-like' behavior. She was encouraged to eat her meat quickly for fear that she would prefer it rotten. She was also discouraged from fighting or hunting. They feared that her close ties to death would make her more vicious and difficult to control.
As Fennel grew, she became aware of the odd treatment she received from the older dragons and how her siblings treated her didn't help. They first began to pick on her and later began to fear her. She was told about the plague territory and all the stories were told from one perspective. She was raised to think that the plaque dragons were terrible omens of death which lead to internal struggle for her during her transitional age.
Now, she has come to terms with her heritage and strives to banish all superstitions that might be held about the plague clan. Through her efforts, many no longer fear her for being a plague dragon, but rather fear her wrath if they made the mistake of judging her based on something as silly as a rumor or superstition.
