- The name was given when they were nine months on 07/03/23 (I honestly stuggled finding a name that would suit them). Erythrae is a cut off from the word Erythraeum, meaning Red Sea. It is an area in the southern hemisphere of Mars, appearing as a dark region when viewed telescopically from the earth. Its name comes from the Latin for the Erythraean Sea because it was originally thought to be a large sea of liquid water.
