Backstory
This semi-aquatic Au Ra seems very determined to do... something. His self-declaration to be the "world's greatest samurai" is obviously a rouse to cover up some hidden trauma. He's got skill, I can give him that much, but what really makes him stand out is his superior luck to have things go either very right or very wrong at just the right times. Originally from Kugane, and a victim of tradition, Kyo broke the law by killing another in an act of self-defense in the back alleys of the Kogane Dori Markets. Rather than face the consequences of a broken law system, he fled to the Othard mainland and joined the Doman Liberation Front, where he united with friends and family he had never met before. He, of course, took part in the Doman Rebellion against the empire. Much to his chagrin, but also to his benefit, a stray elbow swung on the battlefield knocked him unconcious at the start of the engagement, rendering him unable to risk life and limb to take down any Garlean troops. Believing his best friend (S'fen) and family to have perished in battle, he was dragged off the field as the Liberation Front dispersed and fled. With a new target in mind, Kyo now travels the land in search of Zenos, whom he believes killed everyone he held dear.
CURRENT: After years of traveling, he deemed killing Zenos as a lost cause. Through personal growth, his quest of revenge has been dissuaded, and he no longer feels immense grief over the loss of his best friend. After all, he's still alive in the end! There was a tearful reunion (Kyo sobbing while S'fen comforted him), and now Kyo's new purpose in life has been found. One of them is to act as a babysitter/mentor to Olai and Holiday's child; the other is to pursue S'fen romantically (with the help of an old Liberation Front friend whom he also develops a crush on), though that quest is going to be one of the hardest feats he ever achieves.
