THE THIRTY-EIGHTH
Saoirse (seer-sha) - freedom, independence
The stone statue stands at an angle, up on her hind legs, with her foreclaws reaching out forward, as if beginning a gallop.
Her jaws are shut, clutched delicately in between her teeth is a carved cub of marble. The cub is small, with eyes closed peacefully. The guardian's eyes are stern, reflecting the glittering of her underbelly, and the blazing color of her glass wings. While her posture seems frantic, her expression is fierce. Her wings, spouting the mark of the bee, are folded tightly against her back. Her tail and fur- expertly carved- seem to be flowing in the wind.
The energy surrounding her is frantic and bold, as if she, alone, is telling the tale of some long-forgotten hero. Some desperate quest needing to be put to an end.
She seems to be running away, but it is not certain...perhaps she is running toward.
