Trill

Trill was the youngest of her nestmates by quite a bit. She found out when she got older that she was so late in hatching that it had been thought that her egg might have been damaged or otherwise defective. The delay in hatching meant that her mother had turned her back to care for Trill's older nestmates, Tripp and Xyla, and didn't notice her until she cried out in hunger and worry, afraid that she had been abandoned.

Xara would smile anytime Trill asked about her hatching or her name and just say that a high, musical trill was the first thing that she had done with her life, so Xara decided to commemorate it. Trill was considered the most beautiful of her hatchmates and had a voice that many dragons of the clan loved to listen to, but her popularity among the other dragons put a strain on her relationship with Xyla, who focused more on her studies. Xara tried to be the peacekeeper between the pair, and Tripp occasionally tried to fix their issues, but it wasn't until they were both grown, that they settled their differences and and became close like nestmates should be.

Regardless of what her nestmates and the other dragons thought of her looks and voice, Trill always felt awkward with the complements that she received. She didn't see herself the way that others seemed to, wishing instead that she could be perceived as a fierce warrior or protector rather than a minstrel that as far as she was concerned would make her no better than a songbird. Because of that, she was constantly seeking a way to change her image to match what she felt was inside.
