Biography
Jack of all Chivalry
Good ol' charismatic Jack, on the attack, charming and eye catching to any sweet soul with a longing for love or fellow lovers of quips, puns, and cuddling. Valet is the rival- the only proper rival, thank you very much- to Fatale's sweet-talking dominance over the casino floor's lonely suckers. Usually introducing himself as Jack to the mortal patrons, Valet rarely uses his own name because it doesn't leave enough room for casino-related puns and banter.
He wins his contracts through romance- accompanying his marks to games for hours, subtly swapping his cards for theirs to twist their emotions with wins and losses and flirting all the while. He has a million little tricks to get any dragon attracted to male drakes to fall for him in a night! Perhaps they like the strength and mystery of a clever card shark, who's still caught peeking over his hand to meet their eyes with an interest. Perhaps someone small and sweet- he'll kiss every ring on your fingers. Maybe he'll throw his game, all night, just to make you laugh. The gambling is no issue to Valet. His possible client's heart is his only prize.
Catlike in his agility, he slips around the casino floor's hustle and bustle to brush up against targets, practically marking them. In private with other employees, he drops the game. In reality, he's a fierce and revenge-hungry being who will rip you a new one, physically or verbally, if you try to take his clients. Possessive guard over the mortal he's able to manipulate is one of the two reasons he's in the prestigious rank of a Jack.
The other is a blessing from his form. His eyes. yes, they're beautiful shining emeralds, but what else? They're mirror eyes, meaning he can sense heat. In a blink he can see the warmth in a client's cheeks, the blood rushing around their body, their comfort. He watches their breathing and listens to their heartrates as he brushes up close to whisper in their ear, and gets every scrap of information he needs to know when to push, when to cool down, and when to pop that eternal question:
Wouldn't you like to be a part of this?
Name: This is a tricky one. The Jack cards in the modern deck of cards were once called the Valet rank in French. The term valet in the modern use is usually short for the valet de chambre (French for "room valet", in modern terms the bedroom, though not originally so), and in English- America, at the least- a valet is a servant of sorts. Parking cars comes to mind, but service as a whole is the reference.
Also, it's very close to the word Valentine. Vale(n)t-ine. I put a lot of work into a name that the character doesn't actually use...
