______ Many great stories begin with a rough start. Marceline was put up for adoption at a very young age, by parents who had decided that she was not the child they were looking for. The Auction House being as busy as it was, there wasn’t much time before she was found by a mated pair looking to start a small clan in the Shadow Flight- Schadenfreude and Enriqua. They took her in, admiring her gorgeous colors and starry-eyed personality, and gave her the first place she ever knew to be home.

______ Marceline, affectionately dubbed Marcy, watched as newcomer after newcomer came and went from their small clan. Those around her quickly found mates, producing large nests and fawning over their young, while Marceline continued to hunt and fight in the woods, oblivious to the idea of finding herself a lover. One day, however, Schadenfreude and Enriqua introduced Marceline to their eldest son- Darryn. Over time, the two of them found company in each other, and eventually, they made the decision to become mated.

______ Their nest was beautiful. Perhaps a lacking in genes, but nevertheless, the colors themselves were gorgeous, and the new couple couldn’t care less. This happiness did not stick long, however, for clans around their own were beginning to have nasty fights with one another. Not even hunkering down and keeping to themselves could prevent Schadenfreude and Enriqua’s unnamed clan from becoming involved to some degree. Marceline tried to fight when strange dragons with strange weapons came into her home, but ultimately she was powerless to stop them. When she came to after being brutally beaten, everything she had ever known or loved was gone.

PRATA|NEPTUNIA

______ Marceline wandered from flight to flight, lost and unsure of herself. It seemed like her luck in life had run out entirely. Yet, one day, on the outskirts of the Tidecallers’ domain, she found herself upon a group of lost dragons, all without a leader, and all without a place to call home. Most notably among these lost dragons was a group of four female Guardians, all with the most beautiful butterfly-gened wings she had ever seen in her life. Marceline was instantly drawn in.

______ The lost dragons were equally curious about this newcomer, and gathered around her massive form to hear what she had to say. Through patience and kindness, Marceline unified the lost dragons to form a clan, Prata Neptunia, and successfully healed herself from her own, horrible losses in the process. Together, they wandered through the Sea of a Thousand Currents, in search of a lair to call their own, and soon enough, they stumbled upon the Tidelord himself, protecting his charges within the Tsunami Flats.

______ After establishing a new home, Marceline was quick to found a council out of the four female Guardians- a council appropriated the ‘Butterfly Council’. They protected, and maintained order over Prata Neptunia with fair and just laws. After becoming settled, and accepting more and more newcomers, Marceline even found herself a mate- a kind, yet playful Bogsneak named Moray. Slowly, Marceline built up a life worth living, despite coming from absolutely nothing, and now she can finally say that she is, in fact, happy.
