Earth-flight dragons are of the smallest population, but those with the kind of power that Kava has harnessed are even more few and far between. She spent much of her younger years studying the magic of her flight. Many dragons said that Earth was the most 'basic' flight - that they were lesser because of their heritage. But Earth was the First, and it's domain harbors the history of all of dragonkind.

Her studies left her without a clan for most of her life. This suited her just fine - she instead devoted her time to the perfection of her craft. As she worked, her body changed. Her eyes were ringed with rock, and stones fused to her scales.

Kava collided with the clan on their journey away from the Tangled Wood. They had taken up camp by the Trading Post, a neutral area, often visiting the Pillar of the World in hopes of some revelation. They became fast friends, allies, and she helped them discover what Dragonhome had to offer. They seemed more taken with the mysteries of the Starfall Isles, though, and all at once Kava realized that she had never set foot outside of her safe haven of the Earthshaker's domain. She had no idea what laid outside, in the modern-day world, much less how to traverse it. Shaken, Kava hid from this clan that given her such an earth-shattering revelation.

Tucked away in her cave for a few suns, Kava concluded that she had learned all that there was to derive from her home. Why not branch out and explore? She could always return to Dragonhome and the Earth. She wanted something new, and who to better provide it than that strange, lost clan?

So Kava joined them, and at that point, they had decided to take up refuge in the Arcanist's domain. However, they had found it hard to carve out a space for themselves. It was not easy to suddenly thrust two hundred dragons into a space, after all. So Kava approached the Lord and Lady along with her friend Hekau, and together they handbuilt the floating islands that would become Clan Cynefin's new home - Hiraeth.
