With Velos gone to protect Telasero in her venture to find the Heart of the Arcanist, Malan now acts as Dagoth's advisor and Ilunibi's protector. Unlike Velos, who is curious, energetic, and generally friendly, Malan is a very matter-of-fact and stern dragon who doesn't have much patience for fools and would much rather get down to business. She's got a bit of an arrogant streak, believing that The Sixth House is the superior clan in Irthskaar due to their mission, which she sees as far more admirable than anything the neighbors are trying to do. Her presence at Dagoth's side during meetings with The Fifteen is sometimes unwelcome, as Malan has a tendency to overstep her bounds when she becomes irritated with the leaders of the other clans. She has a particular aversion for Saija, Dhaunayne, and Lampyridae, though she has a begrudging respect for Snap that is seemingly reciprocated. Ilunibi finds Malan to be overbearing and often sends Velos letters with requests to return to his post and let Malan protect Telasero instead. These letters don't often make it to where they need to go since, through no act of malice on her part, Malan tends to forget to deliver them since she's much more used to being a brute-force enforcer than a steward or servant.
