Biography
Long ago, Ampere was created as a simple automaton. He helped with hard tasks and manual labor, and was the pride and joy of a small village within the Charged Barrens. His creator, an elderly Pearlcatcher, built him using his own pearl as a core. This gave Ampere great intelligence and compassion due to basically having someone else's soul within him. His village valued him greatly for both his strength and his kind heart.
Things went well for several generations, until a large war broke out between several rival Lightning clans. It was brutal, with new tech being engineered for chaos and warfare. At the apex of the conflict, things were dire for Ampere's village. And although they had a massive robotic Ridgeback on their side, Ampere was hardly suited for war. He simply wasn't built for conflict. The villagers decided they could improve their chances at winning if he was.
The villagers remodeled Ampere. They added deadly weapons, upgraded his materials, but most drastically, removed the pearl that instilled him with the kindness of his creator and reprogrammed him to be a cruel war machine.
In a brutal massacre, Ampere was set loose upon an enemy encampment. The casualties were numerous, and the sheer destruction that had ensued prompted the Stormcatcher himself to order that Ampere be imprisoned.
Many generations passed, and Ampere had been sealed in an underground labyrinth of a prison for all of that time. His internal power reserves had long since been depleted, and he had lay in a dormant state for many years. That is until a young Pearlcatcher attempted to bring him back online in an attempt to escape the maze. Although she was of the Lightning element, her powers were rudimentary at best, and the uncontrolled shock combined with years of disrepair fried some of his circuits. He awakened without any of his memories, and a completely different personality.
In the present, Ampere is still figuring things out. He doesn't know why he was in that prison, or what purpose he serves, but he enthusiastically participates in life with the other members of the clan. He is very curious about the world, and loves playing games and jokes. Potassium finds his innocence and joy very charming, and sees him as an invaluable member of the clan. Nobody has found the historical records of that bloody battle so many years ago, and to them he's simply a big silly robot that came out of a hole in the desert and promptly joined their ragtag clan.
