Biography
The calmness with which she asked the question was beyond unnerving: it was wholly and utterly jarring. The silvery woman visibly tensed her shoulders, attempting further to exert an amount of force required to crush the throat of her savior. But the Lightforged, not even having turned back to face her yet, tried warning her again.
“That’s not going to work, I’m sorry-”
The cyborg seemed to summon up a strength in the fashion that many desperate animals do when backed into a corner, and she finally unfurled her brilliantly metallic wings such that she could generate momentum in her favor, beating them furiously within the cramped, limited space of the corridor. Alarend was jerked backward along with her assailant as they were both suddenly moved along with the rush of the air--and very suddenly, the cyborg kicked off the ground and propelled forward, both hands still firmly clasped around the Lightforged’s neck.
It became clear almost immediately to Alarend that her goal wasn’t to go upward, but to push them out of the alleyway and out into the street, presumably so that the cyborg would better be able to maneuver while airborne. The cyborg, for her part, had hoped that her initial lunge would be forceful enough to snap the neck of her opponent, but that was not the case.
Alarend realized she was not being pushed up, but forward. The cyborg hadn't relinquished her grip on her neck, and as she kicked off the ground to propel forward, it was then that the Lightforged realized that this person's goal was not to gain altitude, but speed.
