Biography

plaguev4.png
Zhritsa
Plague rep
cold | analytical | condescending

Proud outsider

Fascinated with the fine line between life and death, Zhritsa spends most of her time studying things that are either dead or dying. She has massive knowledge about all kinds of diseases, but no interest whatsoever in curing them (which makes the clan healers despair, because sometimes there are cases where her expertise really could be useful).

It's up for debate whether Zhritsa even is a true part of the clan - she doesn't acknowledge Rae as her leader, and seems to only tolerate the other dragons in the lair out of necessity. Some of the coatls in the lair are an exception, though, and especially Wee has won Zhritsa's respect and friendship. Sometimes the two of them make plans for taking over the clan and ruling it together, but for now they still haven't followed through with their plans.

Bogsneak mutation

Zhritsa started her life as a coatl and took immense pride in her bright red and blue plumage, often condescending anyone with less bright coloring as weaklings and outcasts. When joining the clan she met Wee, who despite her dull dark colors was a coatl of a sharp mind and even sharper tongue, and fascinated by this utterly paradoxical creature Zhritsa dedicated months on just investigating the mysteries of Wee's inner strength. In time this resulted in an odd friendship, with the two strong-willed ladies constantly competing and testing each other.

As time passed, Zhritsa noticed the tips of her wings getting dull on color, and quickly learned to cover the unfortunate grey and brown patches with various pieces of apparel. The unidentified illness (for it had to be illness; despite getting to know Wee, Zhritsa was still sure that no coatl with dull plumage could be truly healthy) continued to spread over time. She started to experiment with alchemy, just to see if there was some way to stop the fading. The experiments did bear fruit, though not in the way she had anticipated.

The mutation had been quicker and much less painful than she had expected, and seemed to even have more positive than negative effects on her body. The fading still didn't stop, though. After a few more alchemical experiments she moved on to find some other dark forces to meddle with, determined to find a way to stop the sickness she still couldn't identify.

She still considers herself to be just a horribly mutated coatl, and scoffs at the notion of bogsneaks being a new species. After all she is the expert on everything gone wrong on living organisms, so what would the other dragons know anyway?
