Master of Books

Vortilon is the Professor and Master of Books of the lair. He is an avid book lover and collects and organizes the library. He holds readings for the hatchlings and strongly encourages a robust book club for the general population. He strives to instill a measure of sophistication in the group with some limited success. He can often be found at the more out of control revels standing in the corner looking exasperated and stern.

Some of the younger dragons and drakaina think he is a little stuffy which frequently makes him the recipient of practical jokes. He surprisingly takes it all in stride, rising above the chaos and maintaining his orderly pride. His revenge is picking reading material of a particularly dry nature at the regular reading sessions in the lairs great dining room.

Vortilon will sometimes travel short distances with DelugeFlicker to hunt for new books to aid to the lairs growing library. While he can read the magical energies of other dragons he finds extended time spent with the lairs Coliseums teams and security particularly disturbing due to his extremely gentle nature. Vortilon dreads his training in the coliseum which has been mandated by OakWind for all residents of the lair as a precaution against incursion by the beastclans. But in this, as in all things that profit the lair, he presses on.

Vortilon's first born daughter Tinsel spent an extended period of time in the lair before exalting to serve the Gladekeeper. Vortilon still misses her laughing gentle presence. He has not bonded as well with any of his hatchlings since her departure. Older members of the group still talk about the breathtaking displays of aerial finesse that the two used to put on together before she left.
