Bloodstar’s introduction was less ‘joining the Stronghold’ as it was ‘making himself known’. The tiny and young Spiral was discovered living in the castle base, having taken refuge in it some weeks before being found out, using his tiny size and sneaky ways to keep himself hidden. His appearance did explain food that was going mysteriously missing and tiny pitter patter sounds heard in the dead of night with no explanation.

Upon his discovery he immediately introduced himself as Bloodstar, a powerful being spawned of dark magic from the underworld, with mighty evil magic that wasn’t to be trifled with. Of course, in reality Bloodstar was simply an overconfident youthful mischief maker, spinning tales to make himself seem fearsome. Even after an official welcome into the castle, Bloodstar continues to hold his head high and disregard authority figures. His intentions aren’t as malicious as he would have you believe; he seems to have a limited and childish view of what really constitutes ‘evil’ actions. In the first few days of being an official member of the Stronghold, something he seems to believe he earned through sheer intimidation, he managed to do several dastardly actions, such as trying to keep hatchlings up past bedtime and using his limited plague magic to shrivel up plants in the clan’s gardens which somehow always turned out to be weeds or invasive species. Most of the adults in the clan are fine leaving Bloodstar to his devices, so long as he doesn’t actually try and hurt one of his clanmates, which hasn’t happened and likely will never happen thanks to Bloodstar’s general harmlessness. A few will play along if they’re in a good mood and have the patience to spare; they recognize he’s simply an overzealous child and just as worthy of care as any other hatchling.

Bloodstar has attempted to rope other eternally youthful dragons into his plots, to mixed results. Nibbles is happy to play along with the Spiral’s games and partake in whatever ‘evil scheme’ he’s imagined, but Peony is more content to keep her distance from him and whatever he’s cooked up. Bloodstar’s presence in the clan is still welcomed despite his mischievous nature, and Bloodstar himself is content with having consistent meals and a steady supply of ‘minions’ at his disposal to help perform his ‘wicked’ deeds.
