B O D Y
Blue dragons, also known as storm dragons, were orderly creatures and are unusual for chromatics in that they keep fairly well-ordered, hierarchical societies. They were more likely to be mocking and manipulative than outrightly cruel or murderous to 'lesser' creatures, aided greatly by their natural talents for hallucination. They were infamous for tricking desert travelers into drinking sand or going miles out of their way to avoid nonexistent dust basins. Their breath weapon was a line of lightning or a large electrical discharge.
S O U L
She loves everything bright and shiny. The glow of the moon in a clear sky, the glare of light on fish scales. Shenlana seems to absorb this light, assimilate it into its body, and then appears before others as a shining horror of damned heaven. She is larger than other females of her kind, a broad-chested massive dragon, as if in mockery, always examines the others with her head slightly bowed. The scales are sharp, shimmering with all shades of blue in the light of the sun. At night, it gets so dark that just the cyan light in the chest area can give away Shen's location. However, do not rejoice at the revelation of the beast, because it only means that your death is closer than it seems. She lives by collecting memories. Pushing young travelers on dangerous adventures, singing about their bravery and courage. Shenlana gives them happiness, warmth, and self-confidence throughout the journey. She smiles, dances and sings, fills their heart with warmth and affection. She leads them to certain death, saving them only until she gathers enough memories from them. And as soon as the harvest is over, she will remain with the unfortunate adventurer until the moment when the last breath leaves his chest. And then she will go looking for a new victim.

Bending over the body, which had not yet cooled down, she exhaled. Chemistry does not always act according to the laws of magic, so even though her mind was clear, her body was still drowning in bitterness, which did not completely let go of her. It was a very cold day, Shenlana hated the cold, so she remembered such days in detail. All except the last month. Everything that happened during this period seemed to her like a dream, or someone else’s retelling of an old fable. She couldn't even remember what kind of dragon it was, lying lifeless in front of her. In her claws she clutched a small blue stone, similar to some that hung on her jewelry. And tears welled up in her eyes. She had to wait a little. But she didn’t remember why she was sad to look at that dragon in the snow. She forgot everything from the moment they met in a tavern somewhere in the lands of Light. Forgot how loud and bright he was, occupying all the space around. Only he could compete with her melody in this, so that day Shen decided to talk to him. At that moment everything became clear, she felt that, led by the light of his soul, she had flown to this place and knew exactly what needed to be done. Until the cold air allows her to be reborn. She also did not remember about their further path, about his dream. He constantly told her stories about his past, about what dragons he met on the way, who he helped on his travels. They even decided to do it together, travel the world and look for those who need help. Looking into the darkest corners of the world to bring light into them. He helped those in need, and Shenlana composed ballads about it. Now it was all so far away. She didn't even remember the sadness. It’s strange, all these stories and ballads now seemed foreign. It was as if she had heard them somewhere and then retold them from memory. All these battles with monstrous creatures of darkness, incredible rescues of those in need, noble deeds and someone's stories about a peaceful childhood in the mountains. Someone made them up. Someone, but not her. Shenlana wiped away her tears as she heard the snow crunch behind her. “Who is this?” came a voice that she was sure she knew. “I have no idea, Illai.” And it was true. The magic did its job, and the body forgot about the sadness or joy that connected Shen with this dragon. She turned to the skydancer and nodded towards the lands of a thousand winds. Before they had to split up in the realms of Light, that's where they were headed. “You disappeared for a whole month, I was a little sad alone, so I spent almost all our savings,” she said as if offended. “Fair. I can kill someone and get more if that's what you want.” “No no. I think I can get most of it back. You know, sometimes traveling alone and without being distracted by you, I have time to hear a couple of new stories that can be turned into wonderful ballads. I don't think anyone has heard of these adventures outside the lands of Light. Hmm, at least that's how I feel it.” “You can just ask me to disappear the next time you want to listen to local legends.” Shenlana laughed loudly, straightened her clothes and smiled warmly, looking at the only dragon who knew more about her than she could ever let the others. “You know I will never do that, do you?” |
