She had never been rescued. She had never needed rescue. She had appeared one day, standing very proudly before the cave mouth, with a burlap bag full of treasure and golden trinkets and asked for asylum. They had turned to her and asked for a story.

They ask for stories. Scoops gives them stories: stories about a foolhardy fire dragon that took to the seas with nothing but the clothes on her back; stories about the smell of the ocean still ever-present beneath the blood on lemon-polished wood; stories about hard won battles and more gold than they've ever known could exist in the world. She shows them trinkets, baubles, mementos of her adventures and they listen with baited breath.

It's almost too easy, life among these too-trusting dragons underneath their crackling skies.
She half expects to wake up with a blade to her throat most days, still balancing the blade between true ease and nervous energy and never sure which is better or which will keep her alive longer. She has never trusted easily, never cared for another beyond herself, but she feels something approaching it as she sits against an old rockfall and looks at each dragon in turn as she lifts her head high and lets her voice ring out clear while a story tumbles out and begins to form. It's good. For now, it's even Home. 		If Sweet is at the no-shenanigans end of the spectrum, Scoops is the polar opposite. She's not as volatile as Leopold by a longshot (of course, she is also not a grave robber), but she enjoys a good joke, a good drink, and good company. Among a clan that values storytelling, she is one of the most proficient storytellers. She is jovial and irreverent and would not hesitate to punch you in the teeth and hold a knife to your throat, but hey, she'll probably buy you a nice drink afterwards!
