CTA-102 (aka CTA) - it/its - Defender
NOTES:
- The first functional QUASAR-Unit. Its version/model is QUASAR.V1, but it's among the older models that were retrofitted with newer technology as opposed to being outright terminated.
- Is typically stationed near MOTHER's chambers, but will occasionally be sent to guard other important areas such as the databank chambers and the farms.
- Aside from being the oldest active member of its kind, nothing is particularly special about this android. It's not the strongest QUASAR-Unit, nor is it the weakest. Its efficiency isn't any different from the average QUASAR-Unit. The only thing that stands out about this one amongst the others is that it's technically the first.

Overview
QUASAR-Units are a type of android collaboratively designed, constructed, and utilized by HIVE.63 and HIVE.267. This android is known for being highly dangerous, incredibly powerful, and terrifyingly destructive. Their raw physical and magical power can outmatch even praetorians and some primal divines, and as a result are ranked above both castes by the creators. The models only become more deadly as they are released. Their minds are mostly identical to a drone's with varying levels of sentience and sapience depending on their consciousness' preference. However, they are rarely distributed voluntarily as neither hive wants to risk any of them falling into the wrong talons. While it may be possible to reverse-engineer them, some of the resources required are so difficult to obtain that it would be better to steal them and directly use them instead of trying to construct brand new androids from scratch. It's still unknown how either hive managed to get ahold of the necessary resources.
Facing even one android of this type without help is nearly impossible if you're not an equal match for it. Aside from the use of elemental magic, the spell that characterizes QUASAR-Units is the formation of a small gravitational vortex that pulls in anything that surrounds it, much like a black hole. These vortexes last as long as the caster can maintain it. QUASAR-Units typically don't leave vortexes open for too long to avoid too much damage to the surrounding environment, and to conserve energy. While these vortexes are not nearly as strong as a real black hole, they are still extremely difficult to resist. So far, nothing has been known to escape a vortex after being even partially pulled in.

- Dark sclera, faceted, glowing, or primal eyes ideal, but not required

- No breed or element restriction, although larger breeds are favored
Version Information:
- QUASAR.V1-V9 or "the originals", while efficient and capable of whatever tasks they are assigned, are prone to exploits from third-parties and are more unstable. They are more secure in the later versions leading up to V9, but even V9 still faces some issues that aren't patched until V10.
- QUASAR.V10 is considered the first stable model and a significant improvement from the first nine versions. Many vulnerabilities in the code were fixed upon this model's release, and production of the previous ones were discontinued. The older models within HIVE.63 and HIVE.267 have since been terminated or retrofitted with the newer technology, but not all of the originals are gone...
- QUASAR.V24 is a discontinued model that introduced even better and more efficient magical capabilities, but also some severe exploits and errors in the code. Since it was noticed very quickly that something was wrong, production was stopped immediately and any existing androids within HIVE.63 and HIVE.267 were terminated on the spot. Six of them defected and escaped their hives before they could be terminated. For this reason, the drones of either hive are instructed to report and destroy any individual of this model on sight.
- QUASAR.V25 is largely identical to its predecessor, but it's dubbed "the fixed version".
- QUASAR.V42 is the newest model and possesses a significant jump in quality and strength compared to the previous ten. It's considered state-of-the-art and is the most destructive model thus far. And it likely will only get better from here, at least from the eyes of the creators.
