Spy & Informant | Former Clan Matriarch

Trill the leader of the clan, was friends with Skybreak's father Kindlesky for a long time, and was close with many members of his clan.

Skybreak was very young then and he'd only met her once. But she came with Trill's other friends from Kindlesky's clan, Moonmouth and Illaria. Skybreak was the mate of Trill's friend the mage Marken and they had their two hatchlings Marlen and Dayspecter with them. However Marken was much more devoted to his studies than taking care of his family. Dayspecter and Marlen stayed in the clan for a while but they eventually left. And when they did Marken and Skybreak drifted apart.

Soon she and Trill soon fell in love and he chose her as his mate. Soon they had three hatchlings together Psychion, Scholar, and Rammstein. Rammstein had the same wanderlust as his father and so he left the clan while still a hatchling. Psychion stayed and had many children, the most notable of which is Frostbite. Scholar also stayed for a long time as the clan's historian, record keeper, and maintained the clan's library. He has since left to start his own clan with his new mate, but he visited his parents often. Until the journey became too dangerous. They haven't seen him in a very long time.

Under Threat

Despite being a well meaning and kind dragon, Trill still managed to find a dangerous enemy. Teovanth's Golden Flight had received all the information they needed to attack the Updraft Knot Clan. Fortunately Trill had known about their growing desire to expand the Ashfall Wastes to the neighboring territories for a while. He had kept the mounting danger of invasion from most of his citizens, only his Generals and the leaders of the Mystics knew.

However the invasion force left their base and Trill learned they were on their way. He called an emergency meeting of the Council, and then everyone and informed them what was going to happen. They all decided that the clan would flee to the Southern Icefeilds, because Zensight lived their for a long time and he's confident that he can find them a new temporary home until they can take back their home.

In a panicked rush everyone began to pack what they could carry, gather the younglings and make sure they're ready to travel, as well as look out for the injured. Everyone was worried about Trill, he hadn't flown much since he hurt his wing, and they weren't sure he'd make the ride over the ocean.

Little did the clan know that Trill was hiding an illness too that would make the trip difficult for him. Skybreak insisted he let one of the larger dragons, maybe his general Ebony or the large imperials know that he needed help like the other wounded, but Trill refused. He snapped at Skybreak, when she was only trying to help him, to ensure he survived the trip to the Fortress of Ends. She was heartbroken, for her sweet mate had never lost his temper with her before. She then decided that their union was over, though she waited to tell Trill she was leaving him until after the clan was safe.

Reborn

The trip to the Fortress of Ends was difficult for Trill, his wing ached the whole way, he worried he would fall from the sky so he flew low to the surface of the water. When they arrived at their new haven, a system of rocky and icy caves inhabited by the last remnants of an almost extinct clan, Trill collapsed. Skybreak saw that the clan healers tended to him with the rest of the wounded, much to Trill’s anger. Trill knew that he couldn’t be weak in the clan’s time of upheaval. His clan was filled with very reasonable dragons, but they were scared, driven from their homes, and willing to turn to any source of order. He needed to be that order. But he was too sick.

Trill went into a deep fever that left him unconscious for a very long time. Skybreak decided that in his absence she would try to do the only thing on her mind. Retake their homeland. She decided that since they had no chance going head to head with a military might like Teovanth's army, she would try something a little subtler. She went to Master Mage Marken, and asked him to use his magic to help her change herself. It took many spells and magic scrolls but eventually she had the coloring of a dragon that would blend into the clan of fire. Then Marken changed her genes and her breed so that she would be beautiful and accepted among Teovanth's people, and so she wouldn't be recognized as the former matriarch of the lands they'd just annexed.

She's been training and preparing to go undercover in Teovanth's ranks. And soon she will fly across the water, return to her home, and do whatever it takes to win it back for her people.

Before she could leave, she heard Trill had awoken from his sickness sleep. She had to go to him. She told Trill that she no longer wished to be his mate. That he had turned cold, bitter and angry, and if he was going to be like that then she didn’t wish to be his mate. Trill mourned the loss of his mate, and feared for her safety, but understood why she felt she had to leave.

She is finally ready.
