There’s a restlessness in you that you can’t quite stifle – it’s a feeling deep down in your stomach and your limbs, a silent call you need to follow to satisfy your need to travel. It’s true what you tell your fellow clan mates with a hint of pride in your voice: this is the first time that you’ve stayed with a clan for more than a week since you left Aderyn, that you seriously think about staying, even though you’ve got itchy feet and are yearning to complete the journey you started over a year ago. You still haven’t found your father, a dragon you know the name of, but not the face. You’re not completely sure why you’re looking for him – maybe it’s the urge to finally meet the relative you’ve heard a hundred stories about, to say “I enjoy travelling as much as you do” and “my mother misses you”. And yet you’re stuck at a crossroad: perhaps it’s time to write another letter to your mother, who you haven’t seen since your journey began, and tell her “I haven’t found dad, but a new home. Come visit me one day”. It’s a hard decision, but you can feel it in your heart that this may be the place you want to stay in. The strawberries that you love so much prosper here, the soil is kind to your plants and flowers, which never fail to draw attention from your clan mates. You could finally let your feet rest for a while, and pursue the hobby that used to be more a necessity to survive than a relaxing activity – gardening. But there’s still some doubt in that clever head of yours, a sceptical voice that’s whispering: “Is this how you want your journey to end? Don’t you want to leave and go on a new adventure?”. It's getting harder and harder not to listen. |
