Brenn and Kohle had come to the troupe together, having been companions for a while now. On one of their journeys the Troupe were passing through Ice territory, and when Blossom had been helping settle their lodgings for the night he saw the flame-slink, tail almost solid in the cold, with a young Veil curled around the fire basket it was carrying.

Brenn had been breathing life back to the embers on his friend's back in thanks for her carrying him when he sensed the watcher. He looked up, and paused at the large Gaoler, fur threaded full of flowers with a pack slung over their back, embroidered with a colourful tent of some sort.

Blossom introduced himself and extended an invitation to visit the Troupe's next performance, and the pair was entranced by the spectacle of it all. Having been travelling without a clear goal before this they decided to ask if they could join the Troupe, Brenn eventually settling in as a fire-dancer with Kohle as his performing partner.
