Capable mercenary (who also dabbles in a bit of thievery, vigilante justice, and corporate spying) in Goldensparc working simultaneously for both Joule's company and NC, though each side thinks she's loyal to them. She's smart and principled enough not to sell NC out, but she also doesn't know much about them, so if NC and Joule ever have a conflict of interests, the only thing keeping her on NC's side is her girlfriend. NC's council doesn't officially approve of hired guns, but they need to guarantee their agents in Goldensparc are protected somehow and they need someone with insider knowledge of the criminal underworld, so they turned a blind eye to some of Tureis' hiring decisions. Maffel wouldn't have been their ideal choice, but she hasn't turned out to be the worst. Got involved with NC because of her girlfriend, Nastya.
