Meeting Calla

Clutching his pearl close, Rylan slinked into the sand. It was so hot. How could his pearl lead him out here? What was in this rotten desert? His eyes closed and he groaned.

He could feel a shadow loom over him, causing his hot scales to cool slightly. "Are you alright?" The voice was heaven against gritty sound of wind blown sand. Rylan opened his eyes and saw the prettiest Skydancer he had ever seen. She matched the colors of the dunes. Like blue hued skies against the sandy hills.

Rylan could feel his pearl hum in his talons. This was why he was sent here. She was his mission. "I came here to find you." Her laughter at his honesty warmed him in a different way then this desert sun ever could.

"Well come on then. You can tell me your name and your journey on our way to get you cleaned up." Here was where Rylan vowed to stay with her until the end.
