Biography

[Clan Ruin Raider]

Before he was the mate of Shycandy and stalwart Clan member, Malach was a Wildclaw mercenary working in the areas in and around the Viridian Labyrinth. Tough and taciturn, he is intimidating by default.

He had many contacts with the Talonok clans, as he grew up deep in the Shrieking Wilds, in a small clan who disdained the society of other dragons and valued the solitude of nature. The solitude of nature they chose happened to be Talonok territory, and since the clan was little more than Malach, his parents, and some cousins, they and the Talonok struck a treaty of mutual protection from draconic incursions-- the Talonok because they were Talonok, and Malach's clan because they wanted to preserve their piece of the wilderness. As a result, Malach grew up far more comfortable in the company of Talonok than in the company of dragons.

He met Shycandy while working in the Tangled Wood, giving some weapon shipments between Talonok clans legitimacy to the dragon-dominated landscape. She was interesting (and useful) enough that he let her tag along for the next few jobs, before he was persuaded to take a holiday and follow Shycandy to Dragonhome. It has been several years since then. Though he misses the woods, Shycandy is happy where they are, and that is enough for Malach at the moment.

Quiet, where his mate is not, Malach spends his free time tending the small pocket gardens of the Clan. They are purely ornamental; none of the clan willingly eat vegetables. An excellent fighter, his official duties are in the protection of the Clan grounds and foraging in general. Often, he accompanies Okhti and Octavia as their third while hunting, but usually patrols with Bordeaux when he isn't patrolling alone. Although he does not have the patience for training the Clan's young (he gives Shycandy all of it instead), he is not above taking some of the better-trained youngsters out with more hopeless beginners to raid the Ghostlight ruins.
