Guizhong lived quite happily in her previous home; she was part of the higher ups there. She was promised to marry the up-and-coming-leader of the clan when he completed his training.

They were friendly with each other, happy even. But then in her last moments as a free lady, one of her spouse’s generals, Menogias, informed of his desire to fight for Guizhong’s hand in marriage. Guizhong was not sure of what to think. She had known Menogias; he was one of the people closest to her future spouse and she could have said all three of them were the bestest of childhood friends. So why would he do this? None-the-less, Menogias had started courting her and she couldn’t say she was not charmed by his attempts.

Then, her promised spouse came into power and was about to force Guizhong to marry him. She could now see him as only a tyrant, so she promised herself to Menogias and they ran, ending up in the rescue facility from where they were picked up by Scorpion in the Scorpion King's early days.
