Biography

Recieved a letter from my daughter, SolidagoWeeping! It was a week after she left, she's grown a lot and her clan seems to be a serious one. A relief for me.

Greetings my mother,

It hasn’t been so long since I left the Gladebough Village, and at the same time it feels like it has been a long strange journey. Moonrun’s clan is relatively young, as is the Matriarch herself. She is a dragon of few words; in some ways quite characteristic of a Tundra. Her usual greeting is a headbump and a smile; and as she significantly larger than most of the clan, this begins to explain the general clan preference for the wearing of roundhorns.

First Consort WitCloud however couldn’t be farther from typical for a mirror. He is articulate and even sarcastic with a cynical sense of humor. His lessons with the youngsters of the clan are peppered with comments like Dragons are exceptional story-tellers as they have long “tails”; and Q: Which side of a dragon has the most scales? A: The outside.

As is apparently the tradition in this clan, each dragon is expected to take some kind of Coli training. I could not bear the path of a warrior, so I am focusing more on the healing arts. Even so, it’s not an easy thing to see those I care for get wounded; which I suppose makes me a better healer.

Oh, and I have the sense to steer clear of the poker game run by Bloomthorn (Bloom and Thorn?). I don’t think she/they cheat, but if there are odds on something that they do not know, I’d be kind of surprised.

All my best wishes,

SolidagoWeeping

It took me a day of two to reply to her, I'm keeping a copy here so that I may re-read our exchange whenever I have the heart to reminisce!

Hello, my dear child!

I still remember the feeling of leaving one's birth clan to find your own path and a clan that fits your personality and expectations. It feels like the vast majority of Sortnieth's dragons undergo this change, often at a young age, although there are exceptions, as the Perihelion Watch would know! I haven't been here for a long time, two or three months at most? but it was a no-brainer for me. I've always been entranced by the incredible golden colors of dragons here.

It seems you're getting well acquainted with your new clankin and getting to know them, as they get to know you! It brings warmth to my heart to read news from you. Coliseum training is entirely optional here, and I must confess it never sparked an interest in me. But who knows! Maybe some day? It does not surprise me to hear that you've embraced a healer's path: it runs in the family. Actually, your grandmother Sephika (I took after her colors!) is quite the knowledgeable one as far as treating wounds go! Some call her a star from the heavens. I don't think you've ever met her, but I can introduce you some day!

I'll be happy to read more letters in the future should you feel the need to write me some more. I'll read them to your father Pallason next time he returns from his crazy ventures in abandonned ruins and dungeons! I don't see him as much as I'd like, but it's not like I have time to be bored in Perihelion Watch with all the elders we take in.

Take good care of yourself, and respect your teachers and the other adults! They are much wiser than us younger dragons. I strive to be a wiser being like them someday, and I hope you can too!

With love,

Elvandia
