Welcome to the Corgi Cafe!

Glowing with the gentle warmth of a small fire in late autumn, thanks to the soft lights of clusters of lamplight and fireflies, the deep red building of the corgi cafe welcomes you with generous abandon. Although your travels through the valley of the Jade Circle Obelisks may have been at times confusing and strange, the host of the corgi cafe, Magma, strives to give you hope and respite. The constant bustle of his clan members, ranging from quiet to sheerly rambunctious, followed by the loud crackling voice of his partner, Bokbunja, calling up a wildfire of a party in the barely renovated basement, from which several excited Raptorik streak towards, interrupt his crafted composure of peace. And yet, in what could be described both as magic or as love and respect, once you have entered from the small hallway into the cafe's inner sanctum, a peace resides through it all.

Magma

A dragon of the autumn winds. Fiercely loyal to the clan's founder, Strawberry, a self-proclaimed sibling of the eternally youthful Chocolate, and a work and life partner to the traveler-found-home Bokbunja. Magma followed Strawberry to the clan as a young hatchling, feeling displaced in the crowded hatchery of his home. He has since found it difficult to adjust to what he perceives as the strong personalities of the Jade Circle Obelisks, but since founding his small cafe, has grown to admire them from the steadying perch of his role as a place of food sharing and community gathering. While they tell their stories, he gives them his talent in cooking and gardening, extending his offerings to every traveler, beast and dragon, that makes their way through the Jade Circle Valley.

"What can I get you?" a young fae requests in an earnest monotone from behind the counter, his red and orange tones blending in with the drifts of dried tea and autumn leaves hanging from the ceiling. "Take your time to decide." He flies through the spacious yet somehow cozy room, easily the smallest dragon within on most days, to retrieve or adjust some bundle of tea hanging above the door. A corgi is happily held in his twisted tail, her hind quarters waggling and sending him drifting from side to side until he fixes his place, twisting his hind claws into small grooves in the wall. Several other corgis are curled comfortably in the wings and across the bodies of dragon patrons, most of them obelisks. A small obelisk wisp behind the counter with a body and mane that strongly resemble the sweet confectionaries beside them, is hopelessly entangled with several sleeping corgi puppies. They eyes you, shrugs almost imperceptibly (so as not to shake them off), and slowly turns into a jade statue before your eyes, accepting their current role as a bed for the dogs.

If you've not spent long in wind territory, it might seem strange how, even inside, a gentle breeze bustles through, following its fae patron, no matter the season smelling and feeling crisp as autumn. Following this autumn theme, as you make your way through the cafe, what appeared to be a pile of leaves unravels into an immense red-breasted hainu, a bird-dog-like creature, and four excitable corgis, all of which keen to investigate the newcomer. A welcoming committee. "Don't mind them," the fae calls as he flies back towards the counter, "they're just the curious sort, you know." He calls over the hainu with a cry of "Punky!" and the beast faithfully retreats to their comrade.

"What do you mean, strange things?" you overhear the fae talking to a fellow traveling dragon. "Yes, I suppose strange things have been happening here. But you know, we shant need to worry about them - have some tea! Take some food back home to your clan, or wherever you're traveling next, and feel free to stay as long as you like." It's true - despite the scuttling harvest hardshells and plantation pinchers daring the corgi's curiosity for a quick meal, it's easy to forget what you may have witnessed in this valley. Inexplicable change, strange magics, cold winds that send shivers up the backs of the hardiest ice dragons. But here, amongst travelers both beast and dragon, in the gentle care of the autumn wind, the peace remains.
