Luryl wrote:
"Have you ever seen the sunrise?"

That was what one Fae asked her a while ago.

And unlike a typical dragon - a normal dragon, her answer was a solid “no”. As long as she could remember, she had stood solemnly guarding ruins that even she didn’t know had within its depths. Only that it could never see the light of anything…or anyone.

A nameless dragon meant to eternally serve in the shadows.

“Come with me then. You can see the sunrise with us!”

“Wait, do you even have a name??? Can I hear it if so?” He had asked her soon after they began walking.

Her silence was telling.

“Hmmm…. I got it! Luryl!”

“Lur…yl?” She responded back, confused.

“Yea, like the tree! I saw a few near the ruins you were at!” Ah. Laurel trees.

“...I’ll use it for now.”

Yet that journey would come to a swift and brutal end from what that very Fae knew.

Blood.

Blood was what she saw in her vision. Her own blood at that. Neither shadows nor wind protected her from what she could tell, as beasts of Shade attempted to tear her apart.

Darkness would slowly take over her vision, as she attempted to stand upright against the Shade, despite the agony and pain of the attacks. Running was impossible for her. So maybe…maybe she could save them both from the night.

“GO! BOTH OF YOU!” Luryl had roared to the duo, feeling a beast slash at her wing in the few seconds she had turned her head.

Shadows dissolve to more shadows, and as far as the Fae and Spiral knew…so was the Snapper that Notos had given a name to, the nameless guardian of a nameless, forgotten ruin. Never to see the sunrise he had spoken of to her.

Yet that was not the end. A Spiral had come across the Snapper. Why she was there was anyone’s guess honestly, but Kizet had a goal in mind.

“A fight against the Shade struck this dragon down, huh? Well, we’ll see about that. Sure the others may get annoyed with me reviving yet another from the reaper’s grasp, buuuut we’ll need all the help we can get in the future.” Kizet spoke with a smirk, summoning a red circle below the body. A magic forbidden by those of her element - resurrection magic.

“Hey. Get the hell up.” The dragon spoke soon enough to the corpse, seeing a red light cover Luryl.

“....?”

“Good. It worked. Glad to see I still have my touch~”

“Who…are you?”

“Doesn’t really matter in this case. You owe me, however. Though you should head out soon- the dark is spooooky, even for you! Head on that way~” The dragon cackled as she pointed in a direction, coincidentally leaving the Snapper in the dark about the truth of how she woke up. “Cya!”

“Well that was…unusual.” Luryl murmured, unsure of how to react to the Spiral in general. Pain shot through her body, as she then realized she was still injured. At least it seemed to have closed up. “Fine then. Onward I go. By myself.”

What Luryl had expected to see when she climbed onward was more darkness. Yet the blinding light - a glowing orb in the horizon caught her off guard to the point she needed to cover her eyes.

“...So this is the dawn. Let it be one of many I see. And may Notos and Yuina let the winds guide them eternally. …Is that something he said? I’m not sure, but…it feels right.” Luryl spoke, merely…standing at the hill that she had been guided to by the strange dragon.

It was time for a new dawn for her, forevermore.
