Hatched in the Sunbeam Ruins, Asterion spent most of his own childhood feeling left out of most of his peer's social interactions because he was an Imperial. Schools had banned Imperials from different elements to be near other Imperials of differing elements, but most were ignorant of how Emperors are created, and most preferred to stay away from the "cursed ones" or "mistakes" because of the possibility of them becoming one. When Asterion was younger, he wanted to be a teacher. He wanted to show everyone he grew up with that Imperials weren't dangerous just to simply be around, that there had been procedures in place for centuries to avoid the unintentional creation of most possible Emperors. But the then recent awakening of the Emperor Ash had sharpened or created that fear in most dragons, especially those who live close to the infamous Luminax. The fear had also brought the attention of Emperor worshiping dragons, who preferred to look at the unfortunate accidents imperial dragons could become upon death surrounded by others, and with Asterion's clear blessing from Lightweaver shining from his eyes, Asterion was a prime target for those who would want to force an Emperor from his remains. So, he learned to fight, and learned to fight well. Able to use any weapon with enough skill to intimidate any opponent, and even fight without a weapon on his side, Asterion never had a chance at a normal childhood. |

Trying to get away from everything he grew up around, he had wanted a fresh start and decided that a different Flight was the best idea. His previous place of work recommended the Fire Flight to match his ambitions, and Asterion moved there before getting a job at the Golden Tree Orphanage as a case worker after not enjoying his former temporary job in selling produce. As the Administrator of the Golden Tree Orphanage, He's seen a lot of bad happenings in the world. He took a special interest in most of the worst cases, both due to nobody else wanting to take them on and to prevent bad placements for the hatchlings and dragonets as much as he could. Before Asterion was the Administrator, his predecessor had hoped to break his spirit by giving him the case of Omen - who Asterion wished so badly he could adopt after spending so much time together. The two are as close as a father and son could get, and Omen eventually came back around to him after his case was transferred, and he aged out of the system, after he'd been missing for 5 years. After Omen returned, Asterion had to re-earn his trust, but Asterion never once stopped loving him. He has adult adoption papers ready in the event Omen does trust him again, since the rules against adopting the kids at the same orphanage or adoption center are no longer at play. Asterion wishes he'd been able to transfer to Golden Tree a bit later, just so he could've adopted Omen sooner. |
