Frigyth is a first generation Black Pearl. Blind from birth, she spent her days in the archives of Lanternlea Port, pouring over the centuries of knowledge stored there. She learned how to organize the vast collection of scholars' works by touch alone. Any story, manuscript, or poem that was read publicly was heard by the young Pearlcatcher. Her thirst for knowledge was immense, and she secretly despised her inability to collect it herself. Frigyth desired something new - something of her very own. That was how she found herself in the Hewn City, digging her claws into the dusty dirt in hopes of finding some old relic. She heeded not the warning of the haunted ruins and did not fear the dim place as others did. And she was not - it turned out - the only one to do so. Kaia, who introduced herself as another Pearlcatcher with "a neverending hunger for the unknown", approached Frigyth. There was something undeniably offputting, a slight tilt to the left, of the dragon, but it did nothing but peak young Frigyth's interest. Kaia's stories enthralled her, the opportunity of knowledge unending, and Frigyth did not hesitate to take the leap into the Spiral. Today, one of the farthest outposts in the Spiral that can truly be labeled as 'safe' - Dremora Citadel - is headed by our very own Frigyth. The blindness that dragons of her flight experience in the Spiral never hindered her, as she lacks it in reality as well. She tirelessly categorizes and organizes the stacks of notes, journals, and general knowledge that her husband and his students bring to her library. Not many Black Pearls come to her outpost, but those that do are welcomed in for as long as they desire to stay. Some speculate this is due to her missing her children - but no Pearlcatcher is brave enough to ask her. |
