  1. (phytopathology) A rapid and complete chlorosis, browning, then death
    of plant tissues such as leaves, branches, twigs, or floral organs.
  2. The bacterium, virus or fungus that causes such a condition.
  3. (by extension) Anything that impedes growth or development or spoils
    any other aspect of life.

Blight had been all sharp edges since he was a hatchling. Unfortunately for his parents, the act of getting cut by his claws, teeth, or surprisingly cutting wings led to a rapid decay. They tried everything, but nothing seemed to stop it. His clan soon realised the cause.

And thus Blight was forced to leave, which he did, but not without wreaking a little havoc.
