The shapeshifting spirit
Amanda
«What cannot be seen, what cannot be seeked, what cannot be found
Is what is present before thee.»
Is what is present before thee.»
Did you notice an Imperial turn into a volpertinger? Well... It wasn't an Imperial, really. Just a mischievous spirit wandering on this earth long after they are gone.
They are finding their comfort near the Savion, as the living tend to fear the dead. Accompanying the Emperor, they travel far in their searches for a place where they shall be accepted. Or, perhaps, will finally find their rest...

– As you know, children, spirits of the undead don't just appear out of thin air — Amanda used to be alive, and it that past life of hers that gave "birth" to how her spirit manifested after her life expired. Although the details of it are fading and appear rather foggy, we know for sure that she used to be extremely apt at magic — wizard-like in her knowledge of the arts, in fact! Few dared to ask her to retell us more... to no avail (yet).
– But, KyuuBird, how did Amanda die?
– Don't dare to speak of it! The topic of Amanda's death is an extreme taboo, even when she's not present to hear you speak of it, be certain, she will know. And she WON'T be happy about it. Not only can she remember her death's circumstances in clearer detail than that of her actual life before turning into a spirit, but this fact saddens and enrages her so much that the mere mention of how she died makes Amanda's blue flames explode in temperamental anger- a warning to not say a single word further, unless you want to be erased into oblivion.
– Just as she was?
– You bet.
– Wait... Wasn't this ghost a shapeshifter? KyuuBird, what if she's in the room at the moment? How do we know she isn't real mad at as already?
– Fear not... I shall share with you one secret. The only thing capable of discerning when Amanda is shapeshifted or not, are silvered mirrors, or still-water reflections. Upon looking at these reflections, Amanda's true form will be revealed, even if she is under the guise of another. While this is certainly a little weakness of hers — which she never reveals, and which shouldn't be spoken of, obviously — Amanda oftentimes looks into clear water ponds or puddles on nights when the moon shines brightly, her saddened eyes looking upon her old features- the ones she bore in life. She's afraid of forgetting how she used to look like, so she does this often. It's one of the few things she remembers from when she was... let's say... somewhat more real.
– You saw that with your very own eyes?
– I truly did.
– But have you ever approached her?
– I happened to. And, by fact, it reminds me of one last little detail... Occasionally, especially when frazzled or flustered, Amanda will lose her ability to interact with the physical world — meaning, if you scare her while she's holding something, that something will suddenly pass through her hands and fall to the ground. These instances make her blaze like mad from the caused frustration, and she'll become really huffy until apologized to.
– Now that doesn't sounds real at all!
– You weren't the one whose life was at risk because of the broken mirror!
