Vok is the direct result of passion, from his articulated body and limbs, to his fragile stained glass wings. He is unlike most animated golems in that sense, the majority being made of stone or marble. Other golems move very stiffly; their bodies not having or needing to be articulated due to their either their assigned jobs, the amount of materials available, or the animator's skill. Whoever Vok's animator was put great care into his design, even going as far to repair his cracks and breaks with rose gold.

Vok's animator is long dead, having put the last of his fading magic into making sure his project will survive without him. Despite this, for a long time the golem stayed by his master's rotting side, unsure what to do without any sort of orders. It was years before he moved again, drawn into moving by a little ferret that ran up and down his back like a jungle gym.

Nowadays, the golem is the owner of the clan's tea house, happy to serve despite it no longer being his primary function. His shop is conjoined with Cassiopeia's dumpling shop for ease of access to customers. Plus, who wouldn't love to have tea with dumplings?

Though his relationship with Cassiopeia is strictly professional, he does hold a fondness for the young woman that he doesn't quite understand.
