His mother always wanted him to be tough but since he was born a Pearlcatcher, those instincts were stronger. He stuck around his original clan until he became full grown and took off to explore his interests since his mother wasn’t very accepting of him, and because it was freezing in the Ice Flight territory. He went around, going back to the Light Flight territory to connect to his roots and see what his dad experienced before he had gone to the Ice Flight to live with his mother. His connection with his dad wasn’t too bad but his dad never really stuck up for him whenever his mother was talking bad about him. He knew that it was tough love but it still hurt.
Eventually he found a clan in the Wind Flight territory with several other Pearlcatchers. Some of them had similar situations to him but most did it to share their, oh-so-wonderful knowledge. He pulled his weight and designed several dens for the dragons to better accommodate for them in the clan but couldn’t build them himself. Sometimes him and the other Pearlcatchers would ‘attack’ their builds and it would create a squabble but eventually it was resolved, for the most part. Since he was the designer in the group his den is often littered with scrolls, ink, small scale models, and other equipment to help create the dens.
The other dragons in the clan are very appeased with what he creates but he often has this underlying dread that he isn’t doing enough to help out or not designing good enough. This, and his mother remarks in the past, causes him to constantly try proving himself despite the dragons assuring him that he did amazing. His self-confidence needs a whole lot of work and this often causes his relationships, romantically, to not last long. He tries working on it and often talks to the Skydancers of the clan sometimes to see what can help him out but in the end he has to put in his own work for it to actually have results. He often hides out in his own den creating models and sometimes goes out to get food or make sure the other Pearlcatchers haven’t messed with his designs.
