Helios is a very outspoken and politically minded dragon who sought to overthrow the leader of his last clan back when the latter was still the clan's head. He is still not happy with the successor the leader then chose, disagreeing with the clan's two golden rules of pacifism and exploration. His mate originally supported him fully, but after the clan branched out into exploring she was satisfied and no longer cared for his political struggle. The only other dragon really standing behind him was the war-hungry clan strategist who would love to see their clan become a conquering force. He did for a while, however, concede enough to agree to explore his previous home and beloved motherland, the Southern Icefield.

This rough tranquility did not last, however. When they clan suffered a severe drought, Helios, still brooding over the past and uncomfortable in his current position, was encouraged by the strategist to try and raise a coup. However, it backfired as his rebellion did not gain enough attention and marked him out as a naysayer, leading the leader to finally consider exiling him; he is now preparing to leave his old home behind.
