Jade is a mineral thief. They adore all things sparkly or colorful. From the moment the rascal hatched he was clinging the his mothers (now twice stolen) jade leg band. Greenbean hadn't even noticed until three hours later, and she let him keep it to reward him for his cunning. Ever since he's been stealing every jewel that catches their eyes.

Jade stole the heart of a beautiful Imperial named Freyja. The traveler and the thief loved eachother so deeply. It broke Jade's heart when she left for her next adventure. Before leaving, she left him two sons.
The Wildclaw family has a very strict rule about their children, however. The children not born a Wildclaw are to be sold. Jade couldn't do it. He managed to hide one son, but the other was found and dealt with. With a heavy heart, he named his remaining son, the only piece of his lost love that he had left. He cradled Halvar and vowed to protect and hide him until he was strong enough to fend for himself. When that day came, his son would venture out and find his mother.
