It can be a bit hard at times. Looking at those around him and seeing them succeed at life. They all seemed to have a decent grasp on what they wanted to do for the longest time. And him? It's been nothing but confusion. One minute he thinks he has everything figured out only for those around him to ask him several questions leading him to second guess himself. What if they're right and what he's chosen isn't what will work out for him? Sure, it's what made him happy for the longest time but all the adults around him are starting to make him think that happiness isn't the end goal. It should only be about success, happiness is something that come later.

He changes the path he was originally planning to take in life. He chooses something else he had always had a slight interest in. Maybe not as much as his first option, but at least Plan B is something he can work with. He soon comes to find that Plan B comes at a much greater cost than Plan A. He's far more stressed now. Every day he can feel himself wanting to quit everything altogether and just run away from it all. There would be no need to worry about success, money, or whatever it is adults strive for out in the woods. As far as he's concerned disappearing into the woods would be a much better option because at least then he would be happy. But then that comes with the cost of disappointing everyone around him. They had just now started to act more encouraging towards him, and somehow that seems far more important than his own happiness. So he'll just suck it up, and continue to deal with the stress of every day life.

The issue with that is that he becomes much more burnt out and now these adults seem far more cruel to him than they did before. They begin to call him lazy and claim that he's nothing more than a quitter searching for an easy way out. As if for these past, who knows how many years, he hasn't been giving it is all and trying to do his best to please everyone. No, he's just lazy. He's not trying hard enough. The stress and burn out isn't real and it's all in his head. His sibling was able to achieve all of these things, and much faster than he has. So why is it taking him so long?

It must be like what they're saying. He just isn't trying hard enough– it's all in his head. No time to unpack that though, he has to get back to work and make the rest of his family proud. Because happiness isn't the priority...

Thoughts (and prayers):
  • Resides in: Lockethon
    • He would like to live in Bredenwick since he feels like he'd "fit in" over there, but most of the elders in the village (primarily Aristocles) advise him against leaving
    • Because of this he's stayed put, only because everyone seems to want him there and definitely not because he's heard some horror stories about what lurks in Engelstone...
  • Probably thinks he's so cool, but in reality he is the biggest dork to grace the earth
  • Not pictured: he is "haunted" by three tiny, super annoying, incredibly ugly imp creatures
    • Added onto that he can 100% see Oneiros which, aside from Dusty and Gruffen, nobody else can currently do.
  • His main "job" in Lockethon is to simply watch over the numerous familiars/creatures that reside in the village
    • It was originally to babysit the hatchlings whenever Bones or Cinders were busy with other work around the village, but Manjome isn't the best baby sitter out there often times teaching these kids words they shouldn't know (on accident).
    • He always claims to hate the job and that he should be doing something a lot more important, but at the same time nobody is able to believe that or take him seriously when he's in the process of sitting on the ground with a capricat curled up peacefully in his lap.
    • Reason for referring to it as a "job" is because realistically there is no need for anyone to look over the fauna of the village, but since Manjome wanted to be useful, and seeing as he was "fired" from his last job, they just appointed him to this.
Apperance:
  • Hind legs = hooves, foreleg = regular pearlcatcher claws. He's quite horse-like.
  • Ignoring the unicorn horn which was an aesthetic choice he made to look Cool™️, he's actually only got one horn.
    • He claims that the smaller one snapped clean off, but in reality there was never a second horn to begin with. Perhaps that's why he decided to don the unicorn horn... Either way, trans rights.
  • His pearl isn't really that big and as a result is usually strung around his neck.
    • He knows at some point he's going to need to figure out a compromise for this since it can't be a necklace forever...
