Obsidian lived in a small village throughout her life, living among her parents and helping with crops. They lived under the protection of Flamecaller and her wisdom. She kept the volcano asleep while her followers lived a life of leisure. Obsidian always had a fascination with maps and wanted to travel all over the world someday. This day in particular, she decided to climb to the shelves of a cliff to see how high she the entire village and maybe even more! A giant shadow loomed over her as she climbed up the sheer cliff, and as she looked up, Mother Flamecaller approached. "Young dragon, such a little explorer, you have such ambitions and I can hear them over every wish in this village of yours." Flame caller spoke, almost feeling honored. She placed a talon on the young dragon's forehead and granted her wish. Obsidian was now able to see every part of this world as long as lava and flame touched the earth of that area. Flamecaller smiled and flew off, leaving a dragon about the same size and age of Obsidian behind. "Who are you?"
