the traitor
become the beast, we don't have to hide
do i terrify you? or do you feel alive?

driven | fierce | arrogant

Every mother will tell you she loves her children equally. It's a lie. Noble and in good faith, but still a lie. Even though I tried to remain equitable, still had my faves. Illveria is one, but she was the first of the Night Children and that made her special. Jifeerin on the other hand... cannot quite pin it down. This boy was just something else. His brilliance was equal to Ennevei's, but he had something zealot lacked - loyalty, focus and devotion. Perhaps the devotion part has lost him. He was always so driven, eager to learn. When he grew up I made him part of Lex Talionis, I trusted he would be the right protector and mighty avenger in behalf of Sanctuary. I even imagined that perhaps one day, he could replace me, when my time come. Oh how cruel has fate mocked me. Jifeerin was indeed a good fit for a warrior, he would not hesitate, would not step back. That vocation has consumed him. In order to fight with astral wraiths he took void in. I have outright forbid him to do that, told him that void is too unstable to master, but he would not listen. He could not control it, became feral and in his rampage almost killed Manhariil, who stood up to protect me. I could forgive him disobedience, but I could not ignore assaulting other Night Child. I knew what I had to do, but my heart shattered into thousand pieces. When you run refuge for outcasts, you must always have in back of your head, that some of these dragons might be deadly dangerous. Boundaries is what makes Sanctuary safe, if law can be broken, chaos will prevail. I have sentenced him, like a wise ruler would do. But as a mother, I’m unable to end his being. So he hangs in suspension, imprisoned in a remote corner of Twin Citadels, waiting till I come to an agreement with my conscience. Or till I find a way to somehow undo all this damage.

to kill a predator, you can't remain the prey
you have to become an equal
in every way
we are the lions in a world of lambs
we are the predators
hunters hunters hunters
