Vitreus

Enter Vitreus MacLigature, a nature dragon far from his birth home. The only son of his parents, he grew up in a modest nest in the Everbloom Gardens with his clutchmate sister, Pinx. At a young age, his parents slowly began to drift apart from each other, spending less and less time with their children. His mother, Ivy, eventually abandoned the family after a particularly nasty argument with her mate, never having been very committed to raising hatchlings or settling down.
On the eve of his sixth-month hatchday, Virteus and Pinx's father Ligature dropped a surprising revelation; he had been offered a job by the Lightweaver to work under the dragon god. Ligature was ecstatic. Unfortunately, he was not allowed to bring any outside force with him, including his offspring. He felt himself caught between a rock and a hard place, struggling between the love he felt for his children and his eagerness for his dream. Eventually his own ambitions won out, coaxed by the thought of starting over in life with a job he would love, with multiple opportunities to settle down with a Light female.
Pinx was pawned off into the hands of a Shadow flight just beyond the border that was recruiting eagerly. Virteus, terrified he too would be practically sold to strangers to fulfill his father's selfish desires, fled the nest.

The young dragon traveled south, first trying to track down his sister to no avail. Wanting to avoid the cursed Light territory that had drawn his father away, Vitreus skirted the Sea of a Thousand Currents and eventually wandered into the land of lightning.
The Shifting Expanse was a harsh and arid environment, so unlike the lush and vibrant green forests Vitreus grew up in, and it was no place for a young fae not even out of the hatchling stage. The final straw came in his attempt to cross the carrion canyon; a venture not many adult dragons would face. He was only about a third of the way when he finally collapsed from lack of water and nutrition.
It was a lucky day for him, for a scouting party of a solitary Lightning flight discovered his collapsed form, managing easily enough to carry him back to their lair due to his weight. Thus Vitreus came to Girithdihar.

He rose quickly in the ranks as he grew older, becoming renowned for his stealth ability. Though undersized, even for a fae, he possessed a nimble mind and equally quick reflexes that gave him advantage over opponents he faces as part of the flight's guard.
Almost exactly half a year after his arrival, he challenged the then-leader Marius, only surviving son of Renskallius, to battle for the title of Ceannaire. Marius was a over-sized Guardian with renowned strength; the battle was long, but in the end, the older dragon yielded to his challenger's skill. Though Vitreus would have doubtly exiled him, Marius left of his own free will to find another flight to call home.

Vitrues has been Cennaire of Girithdihar for quite awhile now with almost no challenge to his rule. He has demonstrated himself to be a just and apt leader for his clan. Despite being born into the flight of Nature, he has found that he truly belongs in the Shifting Expanse that all Lighting dragons call home.

--He has taken a few mates, but his main love remains with Reoan.
--He still harbors an irrational hatred of the Light flight due to his childhood problems.
--Athas is his favorite offspring, partially in due to her resembling looks.
--Sylf nearly challenged her father for Ceannaire, but Vitreus managed to talk her out of it, warning his daughter that he would show no mercy or favor despite their relation. Instead, she ended up leaving to work under Stormcatcher.
--He is not in love with either of his former mistresses.
--The second time Lisimere announced that he was the father of her eggs, Vitreus flew into a fit of rage; not at her, but at himself for once again breaking his fidelity oath to Reoan. Though it is known that he is Qamite and Silvermar's father, he has not claimed them.
