Story & Background
Gavilar is the only surving offspring of Nodefom. He doesn't know who his father is nor his heritage. He grew up away from Nodefom's castle, at first with his mother that managed to escape from there, and after her eventual death, he lived alone. He has severe burn scars throught his body, something he is very self-conscious about. He has had these scars since he could remember, they were probably cause by Nodefom, as at the time of Gavilar's early infancy he had little control of his temper and magic. He has inherited his father's talent in magic and connection to death. More specifically, Gavilar can communicate with spirits and ask for aid, either in fighting, healing or decieve. He rarely uses his powers though, as he is an outcast in the society as is and he doesn't want to worsen his posiotion. After reaching adulting, seeing as the war between his kingdom and the neighbouring one wouldn't stop, he felt a need to help out. His closest friend, Lasciel, shared the same feelings as him so tehy astarted thinking of ways to fight in the war. From basically the begining, they had decided that although they seek the freedom of Hemonim, they couldn't support its cruel king. So together they fled to the neighbouring kingdom of Kaderia. There they joined its army. Gavilar, unlike Lasciel had no talent for physical fighting but his talent in magic was discovered and cultivated to the point of him becoming one of the strongest in the army. The two friend eventually became two of the top general of the Kaderian army. His abilities mainly consisted of controlling spirits, basically fighting for him. He refuses to forcefully use a spirit that doesn't want to fight itself and his timid behavior often stand in the way of his victories. Despite that, his strong sense of justice, sympathy towards the dragons of Hemonim and his disappointment of Nodefom's rule, drive him to claim victory almost every time. He eventually finds out about who his father is. This was done by a powerful spell done by Nodefom himself during a battle, where the victims of it would hallucinate their darkest time. For Galivar, his most traumatic moment was when he would be burnt all over his body. He witnessed his mother trying to protect him as well as Nodefom causing it. From then on this deep mempry got awoken. The news broke him mentally, to the point that he is unable to function as a general. The first dragon he lets know of his discovery was Lasciel. His friend didn't have an appropiate response and although he didn't spread these news anywhere, he began being cold towards Galivar. This behavior one sunk him in a deeper depressive episode and self-loathing. He fled from Kaderia and went on a solo mission to destroy his father, willing to sacrifice himself doing it. He managed to sneak unnoticed into Nodefom's castle and was ready to strike his father and end this war. He knew that the only way to do that to summon a spirit strong enough to kill a lich but by doing that he would destroy his weak body as well, as he never performed a summoning so intense. He started the summoning, the beginninh was second nature to him but as every second passed his flesh began to ache and feel more and more unconfortable. Just before his breaking point and just before the most powerful spirit actually appeared, Gavilar was shaken and forcufully pulled out of the summoning ritual. At first he thought he was caught by a guard, but when he looked at he dragon before him, he realized it was Lasciel, spouting apologises quietly and hugging him. Having accepted his apology and being persuaded to save himself, Gavilar joined his friend and returned to Kaderia. After a few more years, with the collected efforts of the Kaderia kingdom, the war is finished and the dragons of both of the kingdoms were finally able to live in a new, peaceful era. Hemonim was gifted the land they were after and was the first reason of the war, but the kingdom remained without a ruler after the death of Nodefom. The king of Kaderia was trusting and confortable enough with Gavilar that suggested he would take the throne. At first, he didn't want to because of the pressure but his duty wasn't done. Hemonim was free but the living quality couldn't change in a day. He claimed the crown, ruling his land with justice and mercy, always having the previous ruler as the example of what not to become. Under him, Hemonim flourish and held strong connection with Kaderia. Gavilar himself very soon felt comfortable being king and always strived to have everyone happy and justified |
