Biography
The trained staff of the summertime nest festival were always prepared for the overly-curious hatchling or the more rambunctious youngsters of the lot (or so they said on their resumes, anyway).
But this one was a menace.
Almost as soon as he hatched the staff had to pry bits of magical eggshell from his mouth. One adult in charge gained a nice new bite mark on his shoulder, while another struggled to get the very energetic young noodle off of her throat. After about a minute the hatchling lost interesting and bolted straight for the shoreline, flying into the waves like an arrow let loose from its bow. The waves eagerly welcomed him as he flitted and writhed in the surf, happily thrashing and splashing all over the less naturally experienced youngsters. He rode crest after crest, smashing into sand castle after sand castle, and nobody could tell if he was aiming for people's stuff or if he was just lost in the thrill of it all.
(It was both.)
He then decided that it would be a grand idea to play Leviathian and Prey in the water without telling anyone else.
The staff had to pry him off of five victims and reel him back in for time out six times before he got the hint.
As the adults kept a close eye on him, observing his reckless youthful abandon, one wondered what playful mischief he'd get into when he was older.
They promptly decided that it wasn't their problem.
