Biography

Ancestral Incense Veridian
HE / HIM
Disgraced Scholariiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Tallow Candle
Veridian was once an esteemed scholar and sorcerer, highly valued for his understanding of the arcane. His work deciphering runes and ancient texts had proven to be invaluable for the progress of magical research... Despite this, Veridian had never been particularly popular within mage circles. His attitude was simply a little bit too bitter, his remarks a bit too biting, his manner a bit too blunt. He had never been a fan of the way mage's liked to posture themselves -- he was here to do work, and if getting your hands dirty in an excavation site was too undignified for a 'proper' mage, well, he didn't wan't anything to do with them anyway, thank you very much.

Alas, when studying such texts, one is bound to come across something better left untranslated... The months before the fire, it was said that Veridian had grown more and more secluded, working deep into the night. A growing paranoia led him to push what few peers he had away; until he couldn't even trust the couriers around his research. Veridian was said to of been driven mad by his own work, disappearing into the night without a trace... the same night his tower caught aflame. Dozens, if not hundreds of priceless notes and tomes of research lost. The relic he had been working on, an ancient book that practically radiated magic over its ancient leather cover and inlaid metal bindings, was never found. Most assume it was lost to the flames. Depending on who you ask, though, there are rumors of a mad mage dwelling in the gloomy swamp light of the dark woods... But perhaps that is just a coincidence. Perhaps there are things best left to mystery.
