B I O G R A P H Y

Water conducts electricity. From a young age, lightning had caught the eyes of the young Ridgeback. From the moment he caught glimpse of the sky lighting up over the Tidepools, he wanted to see it up close. Being the son of the clan tinkerer, Jade was always around gizmos and things, always watching over his father's shoulder. Even when his father would run off to the Golem Workshop, the young Ridgeback was never far behind. The old dragon believed that he could harness the power of lightning and bring the clan into a new age. Generate heat for the coldest winters, cook food like an intelligent civilization, not feasting on raw or burnt fish from dragon breath like a Beast Clan.

But a freak accident caused his father to be electrocuted,
killing him. Watching in horror, Jade refused to let his father's work go to waste. He had spent his life working for the better of the clan, and the young Ridgeback wouldn't let his work die with him.
He took up his father's tools, he worked for years -- shedding blood, sweat, and tears and finally surpassing his teacher. He had discovered lightning-powered prosthetics. Dragons that lost limbs from clan wars would no longer have to resort of babysitting the hatchlings. They could be hunters, gatherers just like before -- perhaps even better than before!

But, he had no willing test subjects. Desperate to test his experiments, he cut off his own hind legs, putting the powered prosthetics on himself. His mate and children were terrified at the lengths Jade was going to complete his experiments, they began to refer to him as the 'Lightning Lunatic' -- a madman that had neglected his family in pursuit of his goals. Fearing that they may be the next test subjects, his mate and children left. His clan mocked his behavior, what sort of dragon neglects their family like that? Heartbroken, Jade left the Tidepools, eventually settling down in the Viridian Labyrinth with a clan that seemed...eager to see his future work.

There are rumours, though. Rumors that he plans on continuing the prosthetic work. Some say he plans on making artificial wings. But, it would require a few more tests...
