Astara is greek for "star".

Astara loves Erymanthian, her boar companion. She met him while out on a hunt, and discovered that he's very useful to catching insects. The two often go out on hunts together, and sleep in a pile in the communal area. He got his name from the Erymanthian boar, a legendary boar from greek mythology.

Astara first met Nefarious through chance, meeting through one of Nefarious' morning walks. Astara had injured her hind leg, and was having difficulties keeping up with her pack. Reluctantly, she agreed to stay with Nefarious while he treated her wound.
While their relationship is strictly platonic, Astara grew to respect Nefarious greatly and decided to help him start his own clan. She still occasionally hunts in local mirror groups, but has grown fond of Nefarious. Of course, she would never say that out loud. While they are not romantically affiliated, they did experiment and ended up accidentally having a clutch of eggs. Something that they agreed to keep a one-time thing.
Astara names many of the new hatchlings greek names, for reasons she herself never quite unpacked. Part of it is that her name has always been an important part of her identity, and she hopes the hatchlings she names will also become attached to their names.
