Biography
Are you scared of the past you can't change or the future you can't avoid?
James has seen some pretty messed up things. He doesn't like to talk about them. Let's just say, seeing your father become part of a monster who destroys everything in its path and knowing that you might end up the same as him is not a good memory to have as a young hatchling.
Haunted by this, he recludes himself to a dark cave he calls "home", where he watches the days go by, cold and alone.
One evening however, he sees a small shadow with two red eyes at the entrance of his cave. Since the others don't ever approach him, he thinks it's an intruder, so he snarls as a warning for whoever it is to back the hell off.
The shadow stops abruptly, and begins to tremble. Confused, James moves closer to it. Now that he's able to see it more clearly he realizes it's a young coatl. But... he's never seen one like this before. He can't put his finger on what it is exactly about the coatl that calls to him, something just clicks.
"Who are you?" he asked the dragon. This one tried to look up at James only managing to move his head in the imperial's general direction, with a slightly distressed expression on his face. "Not the talking type, ah?." James reached his paw out to the fragile looking coatl, who backed away a few steps, unsure of what to do. "It's okay, I will do you no harm, young one." Tentatively, the coatl climbed up James' paw.
The Imperial moved his head closer to him, until they were both on eye level. Still, the coatl wasn't looking quite at him. "So, you're blind. Either that, or I'm too ugly to look at." The coatl put his hand on James' snout, then proceeded to rub his head against it. "Bwuurrr."
The older male was more confused than before. Just what was this coatl doing? An idea came to his mind. "Can you speak?" he asked. The coatl shook his head, then continued rubing it around James' nose. "Oh, I see. Blind and mute." "Nmruurrrr" James could only assume that that was a sad affirmation.
Now that he could look at the coatl more carefuly, he realized he was extremely thin. "Oh s- please wait for a second" James gently put the coatl on the ground and started rummaging through the back of his cave, where he kept his hoard. He grabbed a bunch of dry fish he kept around for an emergency and gave it to the small dragon. "Bwurrrrrr?" "Eat" "Bnur!" When the coatl started digging in he excused himself and left to get some answers.
The imperial flew quickly towards where Kiddo was. After telling her about the coatl, she gave him the information he needed "Chemical's his name, not sure where he came from. He's a bit weird, but overall not too bad."
He came back to his cave to find the coatl sleeping on ... his ... scales? What
