Abominations born from an experiment gone wrong. These dragons escaped and has been a source of terror. Little is known about this mysterious yet savage beings. Rumoured to hide in shadows, or slipping into dreamscapes, they watched and stalked waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Hatchlings are their primary target. Some say it was a yearning for a childhood they never had. The euphoria following the consumption of new born dragon souls urged them to continue hunting relentlessly.

"Long, long ago, lived an old dragon that went by the name Umbra. Umbra was no ordinary dragon, he was the right hand man, and royal scientist, to the queen of dark isles.

Umbra was tasked with creating new dragons soldiers for the war raging between shadow isles and the kingdom of light. These dragons were to be strong, flexible, and more cunning than the head of the royal guard. As Umbra was making the soon to be saviors, something went astray, a calculation unaccounted for. Umbra watched the horror unfold as the thousands of hatchlings grew to dragons in an instant. At first he thought it was a miracle, but then he realized the terrifying truth as they lashed out severely wounding him.

The new dragons overpowered the guard and fled the castle.

Nobody knows for sure where they reside, but rumurs say that they live in all shadows, whether it be in dreams, nightmares, or real life, watching and waiting for the perfect time to strike unexpectedly on sweet dreams, fireflys, and even hatchlings. It is said that because these""Nightmares" didn't get to experience their childhood, they have an extreme sweet tooth for newly born baby dragons, and will go to any cost to acquire a truly pure soul. These pure souls hold a high cost however, any nightmare that consumes one experiences temporary bliss. But as the bliss wears off, the nightmares soul begins to stir and torment the dragon till its next kill."
