PETERSBURG
was it the blue light, gone fragile

Petersburg is a headstrong and brave young fighter and the protégée of Marseille. He originates from the Southern Ice Fields, however during a particularly dangerous dare he was swept off the sea and was discovered by the banks of the Shifting Expanse by Marseille who was then still a mere researcher. She took the young dragon in, gave him food and cleaned his wounds, and for that Petersburg will forever be grateful towards the older dragon. When he recovered enough strength to leave, she promised that he would always have a home with her and after a few days of traveling, he turned around and went back.

He is rather a solitary dragon, and cares rather a lot about his reputation among his fellow dragons. He’s rather sardonic and reacts quite badly to jokes which always enjoys making Marseille laugh and then himself laugh in turn. She was the first dragon that he had ever loved, however his sentiments were not returned by the fellow imperial due to his affection being too serious and permanent for her. After that rejection, Petersburg rarely showed feelings to anyone else except for his friends, Marseille and Istanbul, until a pretty coatl entered his heart.

Vladivostok, otherwise known simply as “Ivoe” to Petersburg, is a hardworking and rather sweet researcher who Petersburg never noticed although she would often bring him drinks or sit with him and read silently in a particularly warm spot in the artificial greenhouse. He started to tolerate her presence, however he would never say a word. One day however when she didn’t show up, he grew agitated and angry, going insofar to confront the coatl. Unknowst to him, Istanbul had planted a flower in his mane, which he then presented to the coatl.

His relationship with Vladivostok is very sweet even though they are completely polar opposites. Petersburg tries to act the part of a gentleman however his stern composure is often interrupted by her more hyperactive and loud personality. They are often seen together, sharing a book and discussing their day. To the outsider, Petersburg may still seem cold and his voice brusque and distant however if one looks closely, his eyes are very warm when he talks with or about her. He takes part in training young interns as well as leveling himself up, hoping to one day match Marseille's strength in order to protect his love. Vladivostok loves him just the way he is however and it is a running joke between the dragons that physically Vladivostok is actually the stronger fighter between them.

Petersburg is loyal to the Stormcatcher and the only issue of contention between him and Vladivostok is the clan's illicit activities which Vladivostok is part of. They rarely get into fights about this issue due to the fact that neither of them brings it up. Petersburg doesn't believe in drawing attention to his clan, however should things take a turn for the drastic - Petersburg doesn't know whether he will choose the Stormcatcher or his clan.
