Sentinel

From a young age, Sentinel was obsessed with literature. While his clanmates were learning to hunt, he was busy reading the same story book for the fifth time that month. On the odd day that the clan ventured out of the Wandering Contagion, Sentinel was right by their side, scavenging the ruins of abandoned lairs for any shred of new knowledge he could find. His clanmates and even his parents saw him as nothing but a lazy, boring slob, who would sit around studying old books all day, instead of helping with usual clan business.
Overtime, the clan lost numbers. Many of Sentinel’s siblings were exalted to the ranks of the Plaguebringer, and the few that remained had left to build their own lairs elsewhere. Additionally, food had become scarce in recent months due to overhunting.
One morning, when Sentinel woke up, the lair was empty. His clanmates had left to find a better home somewhere else in the Scarred Wasteland, and they decided to leave him behind.
This didn’t bother him, however. Sentinel began to explore the entirety of Sornieth alone, collecting old books and scrolls. Along the way, he met different clans, each with their own stories to tell and knowledge to share. From the wise, talkative Snappers in Dragonhome, to the energetic Spirals in the Windswept Plateau, and even the Gaolers in the Southern Icefield, Sentinel had learned a lot about different Flights and their cultures.
During his many expeditions across the different regions, Sentinel had grown old and more fragile than he wanted to admit. After reaching the Sunbeam Ruins, he joined a group of archaeologists in their search for old stone tablets and tomes in the dangerous Emperor’s Wake. Long after the others had left for their own safety, Sentinel stayed behind, dedicated to collecting everything he could.
His efforts were unfortunately cut short by a falling boulder, tumbled over the edge of the torn-up earth by the blind stomping of Luminax. Sentinel’s back leg was crushed, and he was stuck there for days. He only survived thanks to the efforts of a few adventurers, who worked together to free his trapped leg.
These adventurers were Poltergeist and her daughter Anathema, who offered Sentinel shelter back at their lair in the Tangled Wood. He agreed to stay with them and The Outcasts clan, grateful for their kindness and bravery.
Even though his leg is permanently limp, Sentinel still travels around from time to time, with the help of a cane that Quincy had custom made for him. Younger members of the clan travel alongside him, making sure he's safe on his adventures.
He was given the title of "The All-Seeing Eye" due to his unique mutation that set him apart from his siblings, alongside his endless search for knowledge.
