Biography

She had a mysterious air about her that was hard to properly place. She didn't speak much, but the words she did utter carried an inexplicable weight to them, despite her whisper-like speech. Even so, she tended to avoid others more than anything, preferring to stay away to spare them from certain suffering that would come if she were to stay for too long. She would rather watch from a distance, otherwise remaining in the company of spectral flowers and ghastly plants.

She wasn't always so secluded. A long time ago, she was social, albeit still introverted. Through most of her earlier life, she tended a small garden of succulents and herbs, often using ones with medicinal properties in special brews to help those who needed it. She had always had great interest and talent in it, and even after the incident, she continued to make brews with the herbs that remained alive in her claws.

She was alive once, without the fear of surrounding life withering to a skeletal husk like her trapped state. Her brews sometimes required obscure ingredients, ones she had to wander to dangerous areas to acquire. One such time, she accidentally brushed against the grave of a malicious ghost, the phantom becoming enraged. She had left undead, with an aura cursed to wither anything living, a curse she didn't discover until after all she had cared about had become empty shells. Devastated, she made a vow to keep her distance from all others to prevent it from happening again.

Her curse did come with an upside, the ability to communicate with the deceased - particularly ghosts, phantoms, and ghouls. She never cared to use the power much, although there have been a few times in crippling loneliness where she had sought out one for company. She preferred to stay away from any if possible though, still carrying resentment toward the one that cursed her and secluded her from the rest of the world. She would rather suffer the pain of watching the living that she could never rejoin than accept her fate with the undead and passed away.

@Sparrowe

All of her spikes, rags, genes, and slight plant growth give me skeleton/undead vibes.
I don’t know if it will work well with your lore, but maybe she’s some sort of undead dragon? She doesn’t look very malicious, so maybe she’s just a very serene zombie who’s just living out in the wilds?

@Sparrowe First off, what an AMAZING use for a green ghost gene. I've never been huge on colorful ghost terts, but this one's really nice!

Secondly, the clothes of hers being boney mixed with the succulents and shadow eyes gives me a different idea; A living dragon who can control the dead. Specifically, skeletons.

Perhaps she wasn't born with it, but cursed. Curses are nice. Touching the wrong half-buried statue in the shadowy depths of the bramble forests, desperately racing away from a dangerously large beastclan enemy, near death experience, sacrificing a friend or acquaintance to a false diety? The curse gives power at a price; all dead around you will come to life but all life around you will go to death. Can't have friends or family, because they'll meet unfortunate ends. Such isolation and regret could drive a dragon to some incredible emotional levels; insanity, but perhaps a deep, deep bitterness and downright nasty personality. Not just because of resentment, but also to keep other dragons safe.
