"You're looking a bit under the weather. I do believe you have... the plague."

The clan was surprised by a surprise visitor one stormy night. Tottering in a slow, shambling gait, the large dragon approached denizens of the clan and asked for the right to stay. Yes, indeed, he seemed to be a lost traveler, or some wayward vagabond. With scraps of fabric hanging from his tattered and frayed wings, and what looked like sores or pestilent blisters spanning the expanse of his hide and flanks, the clan wasn't quite sure what to make of this entirely twisted scenario. Was this dragon ill? Did he posses some life threatening disease that could sure spread? And why did he refuse to take off the mask? It hid his features, hid his eyes. His elemental affiliation was entirely hidden from the world.

With a cracking voice unlike a typical Ridgeback's, the being politely introduced himself merely as a traveling doctor. A doctor, said he, words muffled from the thickness of the leather mask. A doctor who may have the ability to banish sickness and halt disease, but who clearly is of good health himself.

The clan wasn't sure. For days and nights they deliberated over the fate of the newcomer. Should they allow him to stay and earn his keep? Should they send him on his way?

Given a trial period of a month, he was granted permission to stay as a preliminary member of the clan. It didn't take long, however, for the Broodmother and Grand Ruler of the clan, Lucania, to lift such a temporary limitation, thus instating him as a true member. After a certain event had transpired, it was clear from the start that he was what he had so claimed: a doctor.

His honorifics came the night Lealia, cherished daughter of Lucania and Suhail, and of the ruling bloodline, fell dangerously ill. Stricken by the poisonous sting of a toxic beast, she fought for life. The Ridgeback, with tenderness that combated his macabre, eerie personality, patiently nursed her back to health. He had revealed to all that he was an expert brewer, an alchemical genius of medicines. Though his methods of obtaining ingredients may seem unorthodox by many, his intentions were purely of the best interest for his patients. Many agreed with him, for despite speaking in an oddly cracking voice, he was a charmer by verbal nature. His words seemed smooth, punctuated with confidence and know-how.

He was without name, he claimed calmly, coolly. Without name, for he came from a dead clan. A clan that had long since rotted in the ground, feeding the very fungi and plants that he used in his brews. Always near they were, but forever far away he claimed. A plague clan, he announced, and he at last revealed to them all that he was of his plague kin.

Many had given him to nickname 'Dottore' over the time he had spent wandering, healing those stricken with sickness in the lands. That would be his name, forevermore.

He has lately taken his time to teach Sabrina, a upcoming Fae that had been adopted into the clan a long time after his unannounced arrival. He has help, of course, thanks to his eccentric and quite odd brewing partner, Herman.
